Our Vision
We envision a pharmacy profession where women’s leadership isn’t the exception, it’s the standard. A future where every woman, at every stage of her career, has access to the skills, support, and opportunities she needs to rise with confidence and shape the direction of healthcare in Australia.
Our vision is to create a powerful national network of women who lead with purpose, influence decisions, drive innovation, and lift each other higher.
FEMRx is building a future where gender equity is lived, not promised — and where the next generation of women in pharmacy can see themselves represented at every table.

Our Commitment
At FEMRx, we are committed to creating real, measurable change for women in pharmacy.
We stand firm in our promise to support women not just in their careers, but in their confidence, leadership, wellbeing, and long-term success.
We commit to:
-
Providing evidence-based, high-quality development programs that equip women with the skills to lead and influence.
-
Building safe, supportive spaces where women can share, learn, grow, and be authentically themselves.
-
Championing diversity and inclusion across all corners of pharmacy — community, hospital, academia, industry, and ownership.
-
Driving meaningful advocacy to address systemic barriers and promote gender equity across the profession.
-
Celebrating women’s achievements loudly and proudly, ensuring their voices and stories are heard at every level.
Our commitment is unwavering:
to elevate women, transform pharmacy, and create an industry where every woman can rise - and thrive.
Our Journey
FEMRx began with a powerful realisation:
women make up the majority of the pharmacy workforce, yet remain under-represented in leadership, ownership, and influence.
What started as conversations between passionate women quickly evolved into a national movement — built from lived experience, industry insight, and a shared vision for change.
Founded by two leaders who have walked the path — navigating barriers, rising through adversity, and championing women across the profession — FEMRx was created to give women what they’ve long deserved:
a platform, a community, a pathway, and a voice.
From our first discussions to the creation of our five core pillars, from planning leadership programs to launching SCRIPT HER — our journey is fuelled by the belief that when women rise, the entire profession rises with them.
This is only the beginning.
And every woman in pharmacy is part of what comes next.

Empowering Pharmacists. Elevating Women. Driving Change.
Our Purpose
Our purpose is simple and urgent: to elevate the women who elevate our profession.
FEMRx exists to dismantle barriers, amplify women’s voices, and create the pathways, community, and confidence women need to step into roles of real influence.
We are here to foster belonging, ignite ambition, and ensure every woman in pharmacy feels empowered to lead, in her workplace, her community, and across the industry.
Our Goals
FEMRx is driven by clear, strategic goals that strengthen women and transform the profession:
1. Build the next generation of female leaders
Providing the training, mentorship, and opportunities women need to advance confidently into leadership roles.
2. Increase visibility and representation
Ensuring women’s achievements, expertise, and voices are recognised across pharmacy, academia, industry, and community health.
3. Create a national network of support
Connecting women across all career stages to share knowledge, guidance, and lived experiences.
4. Advance gender equity in pharmacy
Advocating for fair pathways, equal opportunity, and systems that uplift women at every level.
5. Empower women to own their careers and businesses
Supporting women in leadership, entrepreneurship, and pharmacy ownership with practical tools, mentoring, and strategic development.
Meet Our Team
FEMRx was born from two women’s shared conviction that the future of pharmacy must be more inclusive, visible, and led by those who understand its heart - women.
Together, Sara Murdock and Carlene McMaugh bring decades of experience, advocacy, and lived insight across every corner of pharmacy, from the dispensary to the boardroom, from local communities to global health forums.
They founded FEMRx to create a space where women are seen, supported, and equipped to lead; where mentorship and collaboration replace isolation and competition; and where the profession’s next generation can rise with confidence, purpose, and connection.
FEMRx exists to remind every woman in pharmacy: your voice matters, your leadership is needed, and your time is now.
