Sara Murdock

Founder

Multi-Award Winning Pharmacist | Visionary Leader in Community Health & Women’s Empowerment 

Sara Murdock is an award-winning pharmacist, leader, and community health advocate with over 20 years of experience spanning community pharmacy, pharmaceuticals, and health innovation. Named the 2025 Victorian Pharmacist of the Year, National Outstanding Community Pharmacist of the Year, International Pharmacist of the Year, and Global Woman of the Year in Healthcare (Stevie Awards), Sara has become a national voice for accessible, patient-centred healthcare and for elevating women within the profession.

As the Founder of FEMRx, Sara’s vision is to create a bold, inclusive platform that empowers women in pharmacy to lead, own, and grow, professionally and personally. Through structured mentorship, leadership development, and authentic connection, she aims to dismantle barriers to representation and inspire women to shape the future of pharmacy.

Sara currently serves as the Lead Pharmacist at Pharmacy 777 Pascoe Vale, where she has transformed community health delivery through innovative clinical services, strategic partnerships, and the mentoring of emerging pharmacists. Her leadership extends nationally through her role on the Pharmacy 777 Retail Services Owners’ Working Group and locally as Chair of Community Services for Rotary Pascoe Vale.

Having lived through war, migration, and adversity, Sara embodies resilience and heart-led leadership. Her journey from refugee to recognised national leader fuels her commitment to empowerment, equity, and legacy-building for the next generation of women in pharmacy.

Carlene McMaugh

Co-Founder

Pharmacist, Healthcare Leader & Global Equity Advocate

A highly accomplished pharmacist, healthcare leader, and passionate global equity advocate, Carlene McMaugh’s profile is defined by her extensive experience, strategic insight, and dedicated advocacy.

With over 20 years in healthcare spanning Australia and the United Kingdom, her clinical depth is built on more than eighteen years as a practising pharmacist. This foundation is amplified by over 14 years in the pharmaceutical industry, demonstrating broad expertise across critical therapeutic areas including women’s health, respiratory disease, diabetes, and cardiovascular health. Her collaborative aptitude is evidenced by her close work with doctors, specialists, pharmacists, and key opinion leaders on emerging technologies and established treatments.

Carlene is a respected communicator and thought leader within the profession. She is known for her insightful interviews and industry connections as the host of the Australian Journal of Pharmacy podcast, where her in-depth research and engaging style bring important professional conversations to life. She is also a regular contributor to the Australian Journal of Pharmacy, authoring clinical, practice, and opinion pieces, and has written for Australian Pharmacist.

On the international stage, Carlene demonstrates her global influence and dedication to inclusion as the Global Lead, Equity and Equality for the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP). Her strategic coordination skills were previously vital in managing the FIP Transforming Vaccination Globally and Regionally programme. Her ethical judgment is recognised through her past service on the Human Research Ethics Committee for Deakin University, and her commitment to professional development through her mentorship of pharmacists via the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia.

Carlene brings a wealth of knowledge, strategic insight, and a crucial global perspective to FEMRx. Her dedication to fostering inclusion, leadership, and professional growth continues to inspire positive change within the pharmacy profession.
